This is for every KMTC student who successfully deferred their March 2026 intake to September and is currently stressing because their new admission letter hasn't dropped yet.

Here is exactly how the KMTC deferment system works and why your letter is not on the portal today.

The KMTC deferment portal closed around July 13, 2026. If you received the approval SMS, your deferment is officially locked in. But your new admission letter is not generated the second you get approved. It is tied directly to the main September intake processing cycle.

Here is the timeline you need to understand: ✓ September 2026 KUCCPS and KMTC portal applications officially close on August 11, 2026. ✓ KMTC does not issue the new batch of admission letters until this application window completely shuts. ✓ Your updated deferment letter will be released together with, or immediately after, the main September cohort placement letters.

What you need to do right now: ✓ Stop refreshing the portal every hour. Check admissions.kmtc.ac.ke once a week, specifically after the August 11 deadline passes. ✓ Keep an eye on the phone number you used to register for official SMS notifications from KMTC. ✓ Ensure your fee balance and document status from your March intake are fully cleared so nothing blocks the September generation.

✗ Do NOT pay anyone on Facebook or WhatsApp who claims they can fast-track or print your deferred admission letter. Those are scammers preying on anxious students.

Key date: August 11, 2026. That is when the September application window closes and the system begins generating the new batch of letters.
