Our Data Handling & Privacy Policy

Savings Challenge is a savings tracker that walks you through a weekly challenge — 52 weeks, 26, 13, the $100 jar, a no-spend month, or your own goal — and keeps a private record of every deposit you tap in. To protect your financial privacy, we adhere to strict data-handling practices:

• • Local Processing: Every challenge, schedule, deposit and streak is calculated and stored locally on your device. No bank account, balance, or savings amount is ever transmitted to or stored on our servers.
• • No Account and No Bank Link: We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information, and the app can never connect to your bank. We ask for no bank credentials, and there is nothing for us to see even if we wanted to.
• • Third-Party Advertising: To keep this tool free, we use Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob may collect anonymous device identifiers, IP addresses, and generalized location data to serve relevant advertisements. Users in regulated regions (such as the EU/UK and specific US states) will be presented with a Consent Management Platform (CMP) to manage these ad preferences.
• • Fraud Prevention: To protect our advertising partners from invalid traffic and malicious bots, we may process one-way hashed (anonymized) device tokens. This purely ensures system integrity and cannot be reverse-engineered to identify you or tied to your savings amounts.
• • Reminders and Push Notifications: If you switch reminders on, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging together with your device's own scheduling to deliver a weekly nudge. That requires a device push token, which is stored with your timezone offset and whether the paid features are unlocked, so a reminder arrives at a sensible local hour. It is never linked to the challenges or amounts you enter, and switching reminders off in Settings stops it.
• • Crash Reports and Diagnostics: We use Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics to see which crashes happen and how features are used in aggregate. This reporting covers the app, not your money: your challenges, amounts and dates are not included.
• • Exports Stay Yours: The optional CSV export and JSON backup are generated locally on your device and saved only where you choose to put them, through your system's file picker. Nothing is uploaded to us.

How the App Works

Savings Challenge works fully offline. A challenge schedule is plain arithmetic, and your progress is exactly what you have tapped in — nothing is synced, uploaded or shared. Your input data never leaves your device.

Your challenges and deposits live only in this app's private storage on your device. Clearing them with "Clear all data" in Settings, or uninstalling the app, removes them permanently. We do not maintain any databases or storage systems of our own that contain user information.

Savings Challenge is an organizational tool, not financial advice. The weekly amounts it shows are arithmetic on the plan you chose, and saving only happens if you move the money yourself — the app cannot see, hold or move funds. Warranty and App Updates

The app is provided "as-is" without any warranty. We may update the app from time to time to add challenges, improve the reminders and widgets, or fix bugs. These updates will not change our core privacy commitment; we will never extract the challenges, amounts or notes you enter.
