Retirement Countdown is a lifestyle utility that helps you track your remaining work days. To protect your privacy, we adhere to strict data-handling practices:
- • Local Processing: All dates, PTO inputs, custom milestones, and schedule calculations are performed and saved locally on your device using standard Android storage. Your personal timeline is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
- • No Account Required: We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information. The "Name" field used for your shareable cards is stored entirely offline.
- • Push Notifications: To deliver daily countdown reminders and milestone celebrations, we use local device scheduling and OneSignal. OneSignal may collect anonymous device push tokens, but does not have access to your specific retirement dates or personal milestones.
- • Third-Party Advertising: To keep this tool free, we use Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob may collect anonymous device identifiers, IP addresses, and generalized location data to serve relevant advertisements. Users in regulated regions (such as the EU/UK and specific US states) will be presented with a Consent Management Platform (CMP) to manage these ad preferences.
- • Fraud Prevention & Analytics: To protect our advertising partners from invalid traffic and ensure app stability, we may process one-way hashed device tokens and use Google Analytics for Firebase to track generic crash reports. This purely ensures system integrity and cannot be tied to your personal timeline.
How the App Works
Retirement Countdown uses standard calendar algorithms and a predefined list of federal holidays to calculate your remaining work days based on the information you provide. The app reads this data locally to update your home screen widgets automatically.
If you choose to uninstall the app or clear its data, all of your saved dates, milestones, and settings will be permanently erased from your device.
Accuracy Disclaimer
The calculations provided by Retirement Countdown are estimates based on standard calendars and assumed holiday schedules. Employer policies, union contracts, and specific holiday observations vary widely. The app is for motivational and informational purposes only, and should not be used as official HR documentation or financial planning advice for your actual retirement proceedings.

The Retirement Countdown app and its generation tools (such as the shareable countdown cards) are provided for your personal and non-commercial use only.
Warranty and App Updates
